Ahoy pirates and princesses!! Show me the gold I say aye!! Lol. Just kiddin’. One of the best part of Nintendo is the ability that you can control it with the help of your hands. Simply glide your fingers around and you will be in the menu, slide down and you are simply out of it. The touch sensitivity of WiiMote was so successful that they even introduced the Wiimote based guitar and handgun for playing games within like 3 months. Then the pda guys got it! Must say that till lately, the S60 Touch UI was almost non existent and Nokia didn’t seem to care much about it till the whole Barcelona thing. Anyway, today I am going to present you with three of the finest symbian mobile phone applications for your Nokia N95. Yes I am talking about the Nokemote, Nokia DJ and Lightsabre softwares.

They all have a resemblance in a way, they both are mainly developed for the market of the absent movement based touch UI of Nokia. Also not only that, they both are freewares! Too good to be true, I know. Also they are in beta stage of development but I must admit that they are good enough to be released already!

Nokmote converts your Nokia N95 a cloned version of the WiiMote and this lets you control its UI with hand movements, thus letting you enjoy the exclusive and enjoyable experience of iPhone or the Nintendo WiiMote. You can select menu, the messages, open up a message and send it all with the help of your hand. Every single menu becomes Touch Sensitive to say the least. Its quite fun at first, but more importantly, its user friendly when you have adapted its movements properly. You can say it is a different kind of the 3rd edition software Rotate Me which I published earlier.

If you are a big time Star Wars fan then LightSabre is the perfect application for you. Just like the gruesome futuristic sounds of Darth Vader, LightSabre makes your Nokia groan and moan out with specific movements which you can almost assign. Its not useful by any means but rather a fun filled, experimental application or software. I am sure that in the future this particular application’s features and concept will play a big role in Nokia’s Aeon based smartphones.

Lastly I am going to introduce to you one of the official and coolest Nokia application ever, Nokia DJ Mixer. Ringtones shingtones are old stuff peeps! Be your own DJ and mix up your favorite tracks all at once. This application is real fun to mess with and you should try it out at least once I tell ya. With Nokia DJ you will be able to mix all kinds of file types as long as they are of any audio format.

All these applications are compatible with Nokia N95 and needs the official accelerometer installed to work properly. This is what really makes the Nokia 95 the crown jewel of Nokia. It comes pre built with this particular motion based sensor technology. This particular technology officially made its way to the public by the introduction of the Nokia N95. Why in the freakin hell did Nokia kept it hidden, search me man!! Only a handful of application have made its way based on this sensor based technology, examples are Nokmote, FlipSilent, Shake Sms, The official Nokia N95 DJ, Car Inclinometer, Lightsabre etc. and some others. I know that navigation based applications or software like Garmin Mobile XT and Nokia Maps are on the hype in the growing community of the mobile industry and that is exactly what I am going to publish today. TomTom Navigation with Internal GPS Support for your Nokia smartphones and handhelds. As usual this is a free and full version of the application and is mainly focused to the Nokia 3rd edition NSeries and ESeries S60 cell phones and devices. I am also presenting you with the latest version of this GPS based Nokia and pda software, version 6.

TomTom Navigator 6 is an evolution from its predecessor TomTom Navigator 5 and TomTom Mobile 5, mixing this two to form a powerful GPS based system for your cell phones or pda. It includes some advanced useful features like marking a contact’s address in the contact address book of your Nokia smartphone or PDA so that you never get lost when you visit that address again! It also posses a speed camera detection with the complete set of maps, which is upto date to the latest versions and improvements. Also in this version you can activate the integrated expected arrival time for a specific place, this will be really handy for executives (like myself for an example) reaching a different branch of your office during a meeting in time. With TomTom enabled, you can be pretty sure that you will be able to communicate via phone calls and sms just like you do when you do not use a GPS navigator. The usage of this amazing application does not interfere with your phone’s usual phone and SMS calling/receiving facility. The guidance of this application is so great that you can drive without any thoughts of causing an accident because the overall turns and direction comes up pretty slow but just in time when you need to turn on your indicator to make a turn. You can simply concentrate on driving with a a quick glance on the phone’s dynamic 2D or 3D maps being rendered smoothly. Or, even better, simply turn on the voice Navigation feature and listen to your little partner’s direction and guidance in your language!

If you are in the UK or France or Germany or in the Netherlands then you will be able to get extra tips and stats to keep yourself one step ahead of the upcoming/potential traffic. You always do not have to internet GPRS or 3G either, the places you often visit can be saved as cache so that the next time you can save cost completely. With the Route Recalculation feature you will be able to rectify your way points and thus make the fastest way to the destination easily. It obviously has the speeding alert feature built in like the previous version and it also comes with the point of interests features. It also supports your phone’s in built internal GPS of course!

This application, like most of the other symbian applications is not network or carrier dependent. Meaning locked or unlocked AT&T, T-Mobile pre paids and post paids, Orange Mobile UK, Vodacom, Vodafone, Verizon Wireless are all compatible with this one. Ahoy all you symbianholics! Having a bash this weekend? I do hope so and if, in case you are not having a fantastic time then I think this real time multiplayer Ngage based game will make you go Yeehaw! Today I bring you System Rush Evolution, an n-gage 2.0 platform based shooting game. This game is not using the 3D hardware acceleration or chip but nonetheless the graphics and gameplay is quite good. Just like all other n-gage based symbian games out there, the navigation menu and mobile ‘control gamepad’ should be quite well adapted to everyone in general, very much visually dazzling and easy to play or should I say fly.

We have the general story mode gameplay and the default n-gage arena option for internet based multiplay. You can actually multiplay via wifi and bluetooth as well if your mobile devices supports them. There are three types of gametypes in total within the game. In the first one you have to actually time trial type of race and you also have to survive your way through all the enemies and their heavy firing. WIth a little practice you can achieve that and move onto the next level where you have to shoot and kill (the real fun part of the game!) any enemies that you will come across! When you have achieved that mission you will have to escape your way through the enemy territory before you get whacked! The levels are all very detailed and fast, one wrong step and you have to start up again. The firing part of the game is real fast and since you can actually maneuvar quite easily, it really becomes much fun to escape or dodge the heavy fires! In multiplayer option of the game, you can choose to race head to head as well and make your opponents entire control act reverse with your special tactics and power ups.

The game focuses on easy navigation so that multiplaying experience can be enjoyed to the fullest and you can control almost everything with the D pad of the phone. Quality depends entirely on your internet capacity of the smartphone. 3G phones should perform better than GPRS based phones. The overall sound quality and environmental effects are quite well adapted to the game as well. This smartphone based console game is actually one of those which suits the TV Out functionality of your Nokia N95 almost perfectly as the overall graphics is quite good, the difficulty is perfect and the sound effects are satifactory. You will love it when playing the single player or multiplayer mode, so there is no reason for you to try it out from here. It is not supported in pda phones yet so no need to try it in Windows Mobile based palmtops. However all other 3rd edition Nokia phones should also work well with this one. I am sure that many of you have already heard about it in the past or been using it like you should but for those who doesn’t, I am presenting you Warelex Mobiola Webcam. Through this superb application you will be able to convert your cell phone, smartphone or pda into a high end desktop or laptop webcam. You can do it via hi-speed USB, Bluetooth or WiFi connectivity. I personally prefer the bluetooth or wifi connectivity as you can have the independence from all the wires around you which the USB data cable always has. Beside all these, the latest version of Warelex Mobiola webcam also offers instant screenshots or capture. It also have the option to live stream your handheld’s screen on the monitor of the PC or laptop. Meaning, you can control your phone by looking at the PC directly! This newest version also comes with a cool new feature, basically you now have the freedom to stylize your video instantly through a video filter which is built in the application itself and doesn’t require any other additional devices, hardwares or softwares.

In either case the quality is way better than any standard webcams out there for the pc. The quality however, also depend on the camera’s capacity but rarely that matters cause when you are chatting in MSN and using it, the screen of the MSN window really does not show you any motion blurs from what I have seen when using it with a 1.3 megapixel camera phone.

With this new month just entering our doors I decided to present you with a stealth based game, a famous stealth based game to say the least! Splinter Cell Double Agent for all types of Nokia S60, S40 and J2ME based handhelds and smartphones! Guess who’s back in this episode? Oh yeah you guessed it right, he is the veteran elite stealth maestro Sam Fisher! This time around he will face one of the most advaced terrorist groups who’s trying to destroy the United States and other major countries of the world and bring complete doom to the world once and for all. In Splinter Cell Double Agent, Sam Fisher’s mission is to infiltrate the organization from within their base, using his artful moves and breathtaking tactics to the extreme. And for the very first time you will yourself experience how it is to be a double agent and walking the thin line between life and death.

This is a complete strategy based tactical game and using your offensive skills only to kill terrorist won’t really help. To achieve success you must use your intelligence, wits and offensive skills. You just cannot go ahead and kill all the terrorists that reside in the organization one by one because when they realize it and most of their team mates are gone for good, you will be hunt down and most possibly killed instantly. Or, worse even, the missiles will be launched against the billions of innocent people of the world. You have to choose whom to kill, how many to kill so that they do not notice and most importantly how to kill when you do kill. Double Agent brings the use of advanced and most thrilling strategies that you probably experienced in the very first episode. But this game is really one of its kind because the graphics are to die for and so are the overall gameplay. Patience my friend, is a virtue after all! You are a whole new Sam Fisher in this one and you gotta say, I love it!

The gameplay is also a time trial to make things more difficult and interesting! You can’t wait for too long to get the terrorist in position and again you can’t go ahead, step in front and use your knife in light. Like I said, use your head! You have to have a good balance in everything you do, all the actions you ought to take and always remember that time is of the essence and you have to be alive when that time limit is over, cause doing all those won’t matter if millions are killed cause you wanted to be safe or if you are dead and they all are alive, know what I mean? This game is really quite a blast and you will have a very good time playing it, trust me on this one.
