The most useful feature for any phone these days beside its talking ability is the fact that you are connected to the World Wide Web from almost anywhere you are as long as your GSM or CDMA provider covers it under their network. From Wap to GPRS to EDGE and then fueled by the power of 3G speeds, technology have really outgrown our expectations the last few years. The wireless sector specially saw immense growth and even in our small, rebellious country called Bangladesh almost 5 crore people are using cell phones or smartphones. That’s a huge number considering we are a very poor country in terms of gross economy. Anyhow, the best thing is that the introduction of mobile gprs and Edge have really made it possible for people living in the most remote area now getting fast access to the internet. With that being said, in places like the United States of America, United Kingdom, Canada, Finland etc the usage of mobile phone and the internet packet data is really vast and “ever green”.
However, one thing everyone lacked was the ability to surf from the phone via the entire HTTP mode. In simple words, most webpages which were previously not made for WAP connectivity and compatibility was completely inaccessible through cell phones. Then came Opera into the scene and changed everything about internet browsing from your mobile phones by introducing the phenomenal browser Opera Mobile. Symbian OS and Opera Mobile surely is the best combo one can expect from his or her Nokia right? I mean only Flash based content was missing!!!! Then the Nokia N95 was introduced and again internet browsing shifted gears for the better by having a full HTTP mobile based browser with “mouse type scrolling” built in and most importantly, the symbian engine built in the phone supported Flash Lite which is even more superb and made the scene quite complete. I really can’t thank Flash Lite and its developers enough for that honestly because I personally love the overall Flash Lite experience.
And now, we have SkyFire! What is SkyFire? SkyFire is a state of the art mobile and smartphones based browser which is completely free to use and share. It supports everything you can think of literally and the browsing speed is just quite awesome. I don’t know if you experienced it yourself but in my wife’s phone, the Nokia simply sometimes hung up because the web pages that were being loaded through Opera Mobile surpassed the Java heap memory that the phone provides. Quality rendering was always not an option simply because of this. But SkyFire really changes all that because SkyFire apparently uses an efficient and intelligent engine which seems to balance the load on the phone memory very well and the cache does not load up the phone’s “point of explosion” (..know what I mean.) Not only that with SkyFire you can be quite sure that you will see the web as if you are browsing from your laptop or desktop pc.
Though we do have streaming based applications like the MobiTubia or the EmTube for watching our favorite videos but did you still not wonder that, when it will be time for YouTube to be mobile browser friendly? Opera mobile 8.5 certainly did not support it and for a time being it seemed that this is how its gonna go on forever, stand alone application for watching You Tube videos in mobile. Wrong again!!! With SkyFire you will be able to watch your favorite videos from your soon to be favorite browser SkyFire. You can even browse Facebook in full mode and not only the Facebook mobile version and even with the new look enabled. Chaning rendering and browsing resolution is now only a click away in your Nokia phones!
With Skyfire the fun does not stop here! Skyfire also have a built in map database which they seemed to have acquired via a partnership with a GPS navigation provider like Google Maps or Nokia Maps or something. In simple words, you will be able to render live maps just like in Garmin Mobile or TomTom Navigator straight up. The features do not stop here honestly because the standard files download, low quality high quality mode, one click shortcuts, save page mode are also there. Seriously you Iphone Safari guys and Opera Mobile fanatics (..which actually includes me at times) really need to check this out if you haven’t already. This is quite a browser and I feel that it will seriously change the way we once thought we can browse from Nokia based devices or handsets. The rendering is exceptionally fast and so is the loading which is a real plus for this really complete mobile browser. The overall experience through SkyFire is simply superb!!

This is 2008 and it couldn’t get any more exciting than it already is, is that what you thought? You haven’t got a clue because this game is all about a second chance and this game is all about winning, time after time, games after games and penalties after penalties! You got me for sure, FIFA 2008 it is. Did you know that football is the world’s most played and watched game? No matter if you are a fan of Christiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Lionel Messi, Kaka, or Thierry Henry, you now have the chance to put on there adidas boots, the respective football club’s legendary jerseys, get on the field to defeat your rivals and clinch the title of the year to be the club champions of the world in 2008. It is all about success in 2008 and this is what this game of football is all about.
You have the choice to play quick symbian football games or in a career based mode where you have to choose a club and play in the league games, win the league games and it’s not over because simultaneously you have to be getting your club qualified for the UEFA international club championships. Not only that, this game of mobile football brings much more than any other versions released so far. It has injuries, night play mode with floodlights, the yellow cards and even the red cards. Most of them are actually already playing the most prestigious clubs including Manchester United, AC Milan, Barcelona, Bayern Munich etc and wouldn’t want to switch in the first place. However if you have enough cash and do manage to buy a young superstar like Rooney or Messi or even Torres, then you have flexibility to make them your front line force from the get go. If you acquire young players through scouting then you have the freedom of buying them cheap, most players are good as a long term investment but almost none of them can be your front line players from the next match. Just use the transfer season wisely, that sure is all!
In this mobile game of Football 08 (or soccer for some of you) you can configure your keys accordingly with your phone. Most widescreen phone needs to do that bit of customizing because, by default, the game is designed for vertical screen phones of Nokia. Only possible to play on the 3rd edition symbian phones, this game is sure worth the wait. The atmospheric sound effects are quite exclusive and I must admit that I haven’t heard this much details and clarity in any symbian games. If you are on a N-Gage or something of a pda styled symbian phone, then this game is a dream come true mainly because of the extremely detailed, excellent and entertaining graphics. Of course all other Nokia symbian cell phones and handsets can play that mode but I personally think the full package is the best for high end gaming devices of Nokia. The graphics and overall gameplay is quite detailed for a smartphones based game and is surely something to watch out. The best part of the game is the gameplay and the overall experience and if you haven’t played it yet, you are missing out a lot!

Heath Ledger was born for this role, period! Most definitely my top three movies of all time is the spectacular and recently released Batman: The Dark Knight. I can’t tell you how much I liked the Heath Ledger’s phenomenal and quite unbelievable acting in this record breaking, chart topping, money making, thrice the oscar level movie. If Joker do not get an Oscar for the Dark Knight then the Oscar is worthless. In IMDB (Internet Movie Database) Batman: The Dark Knight went up over the Godfather to snatch the first place of the best 250 movies of all time. When it was first released, I honestly must admit that I thought it’s the overall superhero hype that was going on with Joker. But man oh man was I wrong! It’s really quite sick that the guy is really dead cause I tell ya, Heath Ledger was born for this role of the Joker!!

Anyway, back to the topic and after watching the movie I couldn’t wait to play the movie based game of Batman, The Dark Knight mobile game which was released earlier. This Nokia game is quite fun in one word but I really would love it better if I could be the Joker in the game cause I really would love to squash Batman under my clown-ish shoes. Lol. It only allows you play as Batman himself and you have to get out of the sticky situations by fighting your way out by using the senses that you have developed. The overall fiery, cartoon like graphics really suits the game well and makes it even more fun. Everytime you perform a heavy punch either a “Splat!!” or “Thud” or “Smash” pops up which I really liked about this themed mobile game. The game have that old comic thing going on pretty well I must say but the overall storyline is almost the same as movies. The navigational controls are quite easy and none of the Nokia 3rd edition or 2nd edition phones of almost all screen resolutions will have no problem whatsoever playing it. There is also a constant “life left” bar that shows up on all your enemies and it helps you assess your moves better in situations when you have multiple punks surrounding you and trying to make a show out of it. You get to fight behind the glass panes where the famous poster was shot and you also get to fight the enemies on the roof tops, behind walls and in places exactly like in the motion picture. You can use your gadgets, go in stealth mode or simply punch your way to the Joker to finish the game.
This game is compatible with all the symbian based S40 and S60 smartphones of E-Series and N-Series Nokia like I mentioned earlier. All 3rd edition devices with the Symbian OS 9.1 and 9.2 like the famous Nokia N96, N95, N91, N92, N76, N77, N80, N81, N82, N78, N73, N71, N75, E50, E90, E60, E70, 3250, 6600 Slide, E71, E66, Xpress Music 5700, 5200, 5300, 5710, 5210, E65, E62, E61, E51, 6120, 6121, 6210, 7360, 8800, 6300, 6290, 6110, Luna, Arte, Prism, etc are all well supported.
