What makes the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic different from any other N-Series or E-Series S60 phones is its huge High Definition (HD) bright view display, its navigational development and of course the introduction of the Touch UI. With all those being said, let us review the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music in much detail and cover the technical aspects, the latest features and the overall value of the phone.

With a nice and handful size of 111 x 51.7 x 15.5 millimeter, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic smartphone or PDA is not the beast in the market in terms of size. It weighs not really a lot, 109 grams to be exact which seems to be a major plus for this smartphone. Even the new Nokia N96 weighs around 125 grams and the Nokia N85 even more with 128 grams. The Apple iPhone weighs even more with 135 grams which around 4.8 ounces. Only the HTC Touch Diamond is in its arena in terms of size as the HTC Touch Diamond weighs about 110 grams. However, in terms of size no cell phones or PDA can beat the Blackberry Pearl which weighs only 98 grams, well below any other similar devices in the smartphones or PDA market. Even the upcoming Blackberry Bold and Blackberry Storm weighs around 136 grams and 128 grams respectively! Nokia have done a fantastic work in this department to start with.

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic brings with it the power of the first ever logical 16:9 ratio screen resolution which should be a blast itself because with the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic in your pocket, you have the theater with you! It has a wide range of navigational development which includes the power of the stylus, plectrum and good ol’ finger touch support for any sort of text input or UI control. It also has a full featured QWERTY keyboard, alphanumeric keypads and handwriting recognition built in. One might say that every single way through which you might access your phone is already built in the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. With a dual LED flash you can be sure that the integrated Carl Zeiss powered 3.2 megapixel camera will capture every single detail when you pick yourself a quick flick. Accessing the mobile broadband internet through Nokia was never any issue in the past and the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is no different. 3.5 G HSDPA and WLAN connectivity are just some quick examples of such ways of accessing the mobile internet differently or in a sort of new-fashioned way compared to the old USB Nokia PcSuite connectivity. It has an integrated assisted GPS with the Nokia Maps 2.0 installed by default, both A2DP bluetooth +EDR and USB 2.0 for additional ways of mobile connectivity in office or at home. Beside supporting all the major GSM frequencies throughout the world, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic also features connectivity with the major WCDMA networks wherever available. That is serious good news for the American market and specially for AT&T Wireless, Rogers, T-Mobile, Sprint, Nextel, Verizon Wireless among others.

The clock speed of the single CPU (central processing unit) is something Nokia could have developed a bit further however for now the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic smartphone features a 369 Mhz processor. As expected the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic will be able to use Nokia’s standard virtual unlimited heap and jar size installers. Internal memory size or the phone memory of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is 256 MB, however the end users like you and me will only find 81MB in our disposal. The rest are already used up by all the built in features and operating system of the Symbian OS. It supports hot-swap memory cards of up to a staggering 16gb for now. To compete well with the Apple iPhone this is one department Nokia seriously needs to improve upon.

The modem of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic smartphone supports WAP, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA and of course the HSDPA connection and speed. The built in Nokia smartphone internet browser supports Flash Lite 3.0 which is good to see and it additionally supports HTML, XHTML and WAP rendering. Nokia have also improved upon its default Data Sync features and updated it with the 1.2 version which I personally find very interesting. I hope that this will speed up the synchronization of the phone with the laptop or the desktop PC which otherwise take hours to finish with almost all the current cellular phone models of Nokia, LG, Motorola, Samsung, SonyEricsson etc that are available in the market!! The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic smartphone comes with the powers of MIDP 2.1 which is the market standard at the moment and it is not something Nokia can improvise to develop themselves considering the fact that Nokia is a handset manufacturer.

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic supports all sorts of Push based Mobile E-Mail connectivity including the SMTP and IMAP E-mail servers. Since Nokia already teamed up with another giant namely Microsoft regarding the development of the Outlook Exchange on mobile phones, Nokia was able to integrate the Outlook “one-click-configuration” in the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic cell phones. With the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic you now will be able to get instant e-mail notifications whenever a new e-mail arrives in your inbox!!

There are two cameras built in the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic handheld of smartphone. The resolution of the main phone camera is 3.2 MP like mentioned above which makes it around 2048×1536 in dimensions and with this camera you will achieve a zoom level of up to 3x or 3 times the actual object. The video resolution is again configured as standard for any Nokia 3.2 Megapixels cell phone, which is 640×480 with a frame rate per second of 30. The video will enable you to zoom up to 4x or 4 times the actual distance for any object. The secondary camera has a screen resolution of 320×240 which is ok for any secondary camera and the frame rate per second of the video recorder is around 15 with up to a hefty 2x digital zoom. You will be able to assign Video Ringtones, watch video streaming easily, and edit your favorite videos on the go as the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is packed with a built in editor for video editing or for discovering your movie director potential. The Video Player of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic supports Real Media, MPEG, 3gpp, Flash Animations or video, WMV and of course the newly developed H.264/AVC format for direct TV output. Of course this handheld device has a TV out port with it. Nokia 5800 XpressMusic smartphone is compatible with a wide range of audio formats which includes MP3, AAC, WMA or any other audio from almost any standard streaming channels of the world wide web. Nokia also included a nice touch to this smartphone which is audio equalizers which unlike the existing audio equalizers of Nokia have a capacity of up to 16Khz.

Nokia also included a ZIP format extractor in the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic smartphone which is a wise thing to do because so many of us use this format and the RAR formats to transfer files easily. In Nokia Symbian Themes you will find almost all the downloadable files to be of those format too! Additionally it comes with some bloatwares like the Read Only Office Excel, PowerPoint and Word Reader, the Adobe PDF Reader etc. The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic cellular also features a standalone FlashLite 3.0 player which is really good to see! Also, this fantastic cell phone features the Accelerometer Sensor, a flight mode option, an Over-The-Air Firmware updater, Proximity Sensor, Image Editor, Java Open C APIs, Nokia Maps 2.0, the default Sync ML, a mobile stereo radio etc among other things.

The battery is supposed to provide of up to well over 8 hours of GSM talktime and 5 hours of WCDMA talktime. This is well over the talktime landmarks for popular PDA devices such as the Blackberry Pearl which provides you with 3.5 hours of talktime. Even the HTC Touch Diamond offers up to a maximum 4.5 hours of talktime! This is where Apple iPhone is strong compared to other PDA or smartphone devices in the market, the 3G Apple iPhone provides up to 5 hours of talktime and this is where Nokia seems to have exceeded the expectations and the standard! The Nokia XpressMusic 5800 smartphone or should I say PDA is powered by a BL-5J 3.7V 1320 mAh Lithium Ion battery.

Most importantly though, beside all the things mentiobed above, the Nokia XpressMusic 5800 smartphone is heavily focused on two things: The Touch Interface and the Quality of Music as it is a XpressMusic edition. The built in speaker of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic seems to be pretty loud, however with no sub woofer in it you will not absolutely love the speaker! But the overall quality of the stereo surround sound is more than average presently. When you get yourself the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic you will have unlimited access to the Nokia Music Store Catalog as well which is a nice addition for all of us Music Freaks! The Touch Interface is quite awesome and it has two features that are more humane than a machine. First is the contacts bar which apparently acts as a RSS news feed reader and you will have access from the main screen to all your contacts and another is the Media Bar which will present you a nice little, fading transparent menu to choose the music of the artise you want, the way you like! Truly well done, hands down Nokia!!! The touch screen interface through the stylus is more than responsive and even with navigation with your finger is quite enjoyable.

Supported in GSM networks like the AT&T Wireless, T-Mobile, America Movil, DoCoMo, 3g Wireless, Optimus, Sprint, Telkomsel, Hutch, Rogers, Orange Mobile, Singtel, Airtel, Telefonica, Nextel, Zain, Vodafone, France Telecom, Cingular, Verizon Wireless, MTN Group, TeliaSonera, Telstra, MTS, Etisalat,TIM Wireless, Reliance Mobile etc.

All in all the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic smartphone is more of a Music Edition PDA in nature which will ensure that you keep in touch with tomorrow without losing too much money by emptying all the cash from your pocket. It will also ensure you get work done and as you can in the pictures and videos, it is a robust cell phone and should be durable. Priced around $385 or 280 Euros in the retail market this smartphone falls in the mid range market of smartphones. It is surely a taste of things to come from Nokia in the near future, I am pretty sure about that!! This phone is surely a good phone in terms of value for money to be spent!!

Screenshots:

Here is a comparison in terms of Size:

Some more Nokia 5800 Xpress Music Video Reviews:

Please do take a moment and subscribe to the RSS feed of my site, subscription is free and you keep yourself of the latest happenings of Nokia Symbian Themes. Yes it is the Nokia N85 S60 Symbian OS 9.3 smartphone, a review and the phone details of this amazing soon to be Nokia N95 “replacement”.

The new Nokia N85 smartphone is the newest addition in the Nokia portfolio of N-Series Symbian 240×320 pixeled OS 9.3 devices. A sneak review of the Nokia N85 tells me that this dual slider will surely be the phone that will take over the market of the N95 and even the N96 fans. What makes Nokia N85 a real gem is the fact that it has an OLED display which supports up to 16 million colors and provides QVGA videos. At last N85 has the micro usb charging mode which was a much needed feature and Nokia should have introduced this long back, anyway you know what they say… better late than never. An N-Gage friendly smart phone, the Nokia N85 have several features in its arsenal for sure. If you are from North America or the United States then with its tri band WCDMA built in receptor the Nokia N85 will support all the major WCDMA reception including the 800 Mhz, the widely used 1900 Mhz and the 2100 Mhz. Additionally it supports the GSM based reception of 1800 Mhz which is widely used around Europe, South America, Africa and Asia. Also for all you Aussies mate, well, it supports all the 850 Mhz, 900 Mhz, and 1900Mhz band. This means that with this in your hand you will be totally free if you are using AT&T Wireless, Vodafone, Telstra, Rogers Wireless and any other next generation gsm based 3G internet providers or network carriers. T-Mobile, Cingular or Verizon Wireless might not be the best network if you are using the N85 because of the EDGE connectivity only. Of course it has UMTS, HSDPA, GPRS, EDGE, WAP compatibility, what else can you expect anyway! All major carriers like Airtel, Virgin Mobile, Hutch, Digi, Orange Mobile UK etc are supported as well.

For its phenomenal high end Carl Zeiss based 5 mega pixel Nokia have introduced the slider I guess, thus keeping the lens clean and scratch free at all times which otherwise would have been the case if they were using the kick stand in this one also. As you would expect for such a high end handset, it supports auto focus and there is a dual LED flash to support the high 5 megapixel camera which makes N85 a perfect camera phone also. In low light conditions the video light turns itself on which is vital for capturing video on a cloudy day or deep into the night. The overall casing and the texture is really very robust overall and it seems that Nokia have taken good care this time to prevent fingertip marks on the phone’s body. It supports both Wi-Fi and A2DP based bluetooth connectivity. The quality of the A2DP entirely depends on your headphones, if its stereo or mono really does not matter because N85 supports both of them.

Glide it down and the smooth keypad exposes itself from the underneath and overall the keys are quite smooth. So, if you are a hardcore mobile game player or like to chat over in mobile instant messengers and chatrooms then this will ensure that your fingers don’t get strain even after an hour of constant chatting. It comes with micro SD memory card slot which supports up to around 8GB of space and guess what… Nokia provides an 8gb of memory card within the package. It also have the standard music player and FM radio built in so you can easily use it as a music edition phone without being left out from the music freaks like me. Not only that the Nokia N85 is also equipped with a 3.5 mm audio jack port so that you can easily plug and play videos and audios regardless wherever you are.

The N-Series 3rd edition OS 9.3 based Nokia N85 is also providing you 70 mb of internal phone based memory which should be enough to install your favorite mobile applications easily and use it to your advantage efficiently. It also comes with a GPS receiver which is nowadays a standard for S60 smartphones and devices I’ll say. Weighed around 4.5 oz this phone have the following specs in its physical size: 4? x 1.9? by .6? which is quite light weight and not bulky at all.

Some Demo and Promos:

Some screenshots:

The Nokia N85 is priced at around 665 USD before tax and interest premiums. Yes it is a pricey phone but yes, its worth the price totally. It can be the new Nokia N95 and N96 replacement in the near future for sure. Time will tell I guess. Cheers and please subscribe to the feed for free if you want to support my reviews and themes and everything else in this blog. Adios!
So do take a complete detailed look at the N810 before you buy one. The Nokia N810 Internet Tablet edition is really an impressive phone overall, let me get

that out of my system first. The shiny brass finishing on the top and sides makes it appear quite luxurious to say the least. Before going into the technical parts of the phone let us take a look at the hardware it offers first. Weighing almost 228 gram and with a total height and width of of 72 mm by 128 mm respectively, the Nokia N810 is really not oversized compared to the other tablets in the market. Its thickness in the sides is only 14 mm which is actually quite nice and slim compared to the other brands. Its half brother N800 definitely goes down to it in every aspect of the phone. The phone is also equipped with a high resolution 4.13 inches of WVGA display, 800 x 480 pixels with up to 65,000 colors in its capacity. The tablet’s processor is TI OMAP 2420 400Mhz which is considered one of the most optimum processor found in the market. The flash ram can expand upto 256 MB and the actual RAM is a fair DDR 128MB, enough for a tablet of its size. The phone comes with a built in internal memory (like that of the N91) of 2Gb but unlike the other tablet phones in its price range, it has the option expand the memory using the MINI SD card or the MicroSd cards of upto 8gb!! The phone really is a blast in terms of battery life with a Nokia BP-4L battery. If you switch on the WLAN and keep on browsing continiously with the backlight on then you can use it for a straight 4 hours. It also have a ten hour life with the music playback and with the always online feature it will have a heartbeat of almost five days. The standby time is however said to be 14 days but I am not too sure about that.

It also have one of the most slick QWERTY keyboards in its class, roll it sideways and just slide it down. It also has a stand up mode, meaning you can place it upwards on the table when it rests on its “crutch” or the desk stand. The microphone is really good and very sensitive, it picks up almost anything with amazing clarity. So talking in MSN or Skype can be much fun. It also features a stereo loud speaker, a high resolution display (widescreen) and a VGA web camera. There is also a nifty little light sensor built in to save power. The camera is nothing special though and can be only really useful if you use it as a web cam and NOT a normal camera as the quality is really just ok. It also has a HW key to lock the touch screen and keys. The WLAN specification is quite normal like the Nokia N95 or anything similar, that is the IEEE 802.11b/g. The bluetooth can be used for a variety of tasks including FTP transfers and DUN connectivity. High speed USB 2.0 with a 3.5mm stereo headphone plug makes it the same as any other good Nokia smartphones.

The operating system is based on the Maemo Linux 2008 and like you would expect, the performance is quite good. You always can update the OS directly from the site when new versions are released. The browser is really good, its Mozilla with AJAX baby! With cool drop down boxes and cool many menus almost in every corner and it even supports transparency which really makes it stand out. You can have the RSS reader, adobe flash player, real media player running all at once in the single screen. However, one huge drawback of this phone is also in its browser. The load time is really not good, plus you can only start to browse after the whole page have loaded. You have Adobe flash for video and audio streaming, real media and Quicktime support beside the usual MPEG, 3GPP, WMA etc built in the phone, meaning you can see you tube videos on the go and full screen without compromising quality whatsoever. The you tube functionality really makes it one of the best phones to watch you tube videos from as the playback is really very smooth. It also supports SIP operation and video calling and with a GPS map built in you can actually pin point the destination, record it from your phone at your house using WLAN and play it afterwards without using the 3G or EDGE packets which will increase your monthly bill for sure. So you have no need to use applications like Garmin Mobile GPS and others for road navigation. The Nokia N810 also have POP 3 support for easy e mailing and a built in RSS reader so that you can keep track with the happening news and posts from my blog and from around the world. Besides these there are several other utilites built in like the PDF reader, games, back up and restore or system restore and a file manager with a clock. The navigation is nothing short of amazing as you can browse using the pen or your finger using the full screen of the phone. The phone comes with a car charger, travel stand, headsets and a sweet little pouch.

All in all this tablet phone is really very good if you are a good fan of the you tube, but the other browsing functionality is not as good as the whole “load first, then scroll” makes it a little weak. The keyboard is quite big and your fingers fit in nicely and the light sensor really uses itself to full potential as the whole screen backlight and key lights controls itself according to the light around you. The whole display quality is really beautiful and I hope you will like it too. Let us know your experiences with the N810 if you have one as it will help us all to asses the tablet further. As much as I know AT&T and Verizon Wireless are supported in the USA, Vodafone, Orange Mobile UK, Hutchison, Cingular, Airtel, Digi etc and other gsm networks are ofcourse well supported. Go ahead and get one, it should be worth the money!

Do subscribe to the RSS feed of my site if you want to keep updated with the latest phone reviews and want to have the coolest symbian games, mobile applications and themes for your phone, pda or tablet.
It also have a conferencing camera built on the front side of the phone to do your online based meetings and conference. Packed with WiFi, HSPDA and a NMEA 0183 GPS satellite receiver, you can be sure that this phone is one of the best phones for business. The phone casing is quite slim and seems like a modified Blackberry Bold from the sides. And to add to that, it also supports Blackberry devices. With a 128MB RAM and a whooping 256MB ROM drive, you can be sure that this phone is quite faster compared to other E-Series smartphones. It weighs around 120 grams with the battery inside and is powered by a 328 MHz processor speed with a symbian OS 9.2 firmware. The top part of the exterior is covered by a chrome casing which really promises us a sturdy and robust performance for a long time to come.

The wide screen 320×240, 24 bit pixels TFT screen is well optimized with a nice and even back light for a reliable usage. It internal antenna also supports the quad band GPRS and EDGE so whether your state or country have a 3G connection or not, you can be pretty relaxed knowing that at least you will still have the fast performance that EDGE delivers. It also has a 8GB hot swap MicroSD and comes with a main 3.2 mega pixels camera and a LED mobile flash. Infrared is also built in beside Bluetooth, Fast 480mbits USB, 54mbits WiFi and WLAN connectivity. It also comes with a BURY hardware for the car which is quite handy and something almost all other models lack.

The camera supports MPEG 4 and 3GPP uninterrupted recording and the quality of the pictures and video is quite well, almost better than N73 Music Edition. However this phone lacks the analog Tv out and audio out capability which is understandable in a ESeries phone. The navigation is quite easy specially with a 5 way directional navigation button on the center and since the phone’s operating is quite fast, it should really be an outstanding experience for any Nokia E71 user. Nokia E71 carries a Li-On battery which is a major improvement than its predecessor Nokia E61i. Since this comes with a fast Wifi, the battery seemed to be one of the main concern of the R&D division of Nokia and they have really done a great job so far. With a 1500 mAh battery, the life of Nokia E71 is promising and very impressive! 3G does work well and the WiFi works like a charm on this phone. It does lack USB charging though, which is one of the weakness of this phone. The calendar is quite ordinary and nothing special have been developed in this version. This phone is also a lot thinner than the Blackberry Curve, Nokia N95 8gb and the Apple iPhone! It also supports IMAP emails and has an inbuilt mono microphone and loudspeaker. The usual audio output is stereo though obviously!

AT&T is heavily rumored to get this contract which might be a very good news for all you ATT user base. It is not confirmed, but most probably a 90% chance of it ending up with ATT. Trust me, its way better than the Blackberry Curve and almost as fast as the iPhone and since it comes with the Symbian OS 9.2, it really is a treat to enjoy!

Here are some additional screenshots of the Nokia E71 front and back, also compared with the iPhone and the Nokia N95 8gb.

Planning to buy it already? Are you? Then you should better take a look at this phone’s detailed functionality and commitment towards the average customer.

With a network compatibility of the GSM900 / GSM1800 / GSM1900 / GSM850 and HSDPA this phone is actually built to be spread around the world with its wide array of network recognition. So whether you are using At&T or T-Mobile or even Airtel or Grameenphone, this phone will work for you fine! Introduced in the early quarter of 2008, this “block designed” is really one of the “Black Jack” of Nokia. One might say the Nokia N72 have hit the wheels of evolution and became the Nokia N78. Lighter in terms of weight when compared to its unidentified twin, the Nokia N96, this phone weighs about 108g with the battery feeding it inside. With the wide array of 16 million colors in its 240×320 pixels graphical display, once again just like the Nokia N96, it should quite be a similar and magnificent experience to watch your favorite action movies. However, unlike the Nokia N96, N78 lacks in space quite a bit. With a shared memory of only 70mb, this phone falls down to the knees of the N96. You have the ability to expand your memory card actually, but, only to an extent. Storing both movies and a big database of mp3s is quite impossible.

When surfing the internet you will have a wonderful time because it seem to support almost all the available technologies like the 3.6 MB HSPDA/3G, EDGE, Wap, and GPRS. The Nokia N78 also comes in built with the WLAN Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, UPnP technology, A2DP bluetooth, and the usual E-mail client which includes Push to Talk, instant messaging etc. With a hefty 3.15 mega pixels powering the main trademarked Carl Zeiss eye of this beast, taking pictures in 2048×1536 pictures should be enough to satisfy the senses. Of course N78 also have a built in VGA camera with a framerate of 15 fps only! Disappointed a bit here, but who cares about a second camera anyway (sour grapes syndrome!).

The battery is the same one from the previous models of the NSeries Nokia phones, Lithium Ion 1200 mAH, giving you a standby of 320 hours and a talk time on 260 minutes. Nokia seem to have forgotten to take care of its almost buggy battery here, but I do hope that it has developed this particular battery better than that of Nokia N82 or N81 and we all can actually enjoy 260 minutes of talktime as promised by them here. With an overall dimension of 113 x 49 x 15.1 mm and a D-Pad to die for, this phone is worth the bucks! The number keys are quite deceiving to say the least, because, though they appear to be “hard to navigate” they actually aren’t and the experience should be quite smooth here!

Overall, this phone ain’t bad at all for 350 euros before taxes! However, the best it simply isn’t in its NSeries class. The overall look of the phone is quite sleek and virile, except maybe in the sides of it. The sides are colored to appear dirty copper which simply seems will start to fade away after some time of rough usage, however this remains to be seen. The operating system is the all new Symbian OS 9.2 and the navigation experience within the phone is quite slithering which simply can make its worth the price. The overall phone casing is quite robust, so it won’t break anytime soon either.

I hope you enjoyed this review of the all new Nokia N78 and will subscribe to the RSS feed to keep up! Don’t forget to share your experience about this phone if you are using it or you are planning to buy it anytime soon! Cheerios!
This is a review and a preview of the latest Nokia N96 prototype. This is the latest addition in the symbian S60 3rd Edition 9.2 portfolio of Nokia and some say it is boring, however I do disagree with that. It looks like a modified combination of the Apple Iphone and the Nokia N95 8gb. However, with a built in phone memory of an astounding 16gb and the ability to extend it further with another 8gb of swappable memory card, it seems space really will never be an issue in terms of building a good mp3 database library inside the phone and carry it on with you.

The screen of the phone is around 2.8 inches which makes it capable to be a mini movie theater if you want it to be. The bitrate refreshes very fast per pixel as it is a QVGA 16 million color schemes LCD TFT screen, so playing high quality DVD movies will actually be quite an experience, a positive one of course! The battery life, well so far it seems that its the same 950 Lithium Ion battery N95 8gb has and though some people complained about the battery life with the N95 8GB, I think Nokia will make sure that this doesn’t happen again with this one. Let’s keep our fingers crossed about that, shall we? What makes the Nokia N96 stand out from N95 8gb is its more dependable OS, increased efficiency and better hardware chip sets.

The design is really very slick to say the least! Love the way the corner is curved to make it appear more posh and it goes perfectly well with the easy peasy touchpad UI or navigation. Shiny on the outside with a more robust slider this time around compared to its kin N95 Music Edition. All in all, the design should not be complained about because this phone is dressed to be royal yet black. It seems that this phone is a huge step towards the evolution of the Nokia Morph Concept.

The N96 is GSM 850/1800/1900 Megahertz or MHz compatible for the mass, along with the option for EGSM900 and Wireless CDMA 2100/900 HSPDA connectivity and compatibility for the rest of us. With a follow up of the N95, this one too comes with a 5MB Carl Zeiss Tessar Dual LED Flash, automatic focus and exposure main camera with a secondary VGA camera similar to the current Nokia smartphones. This gives you the ability to record “home made movies” at ease and on the fly. With a built in video stabilizer, a very good 30 frames per second, MPEG 4 support and a 16gb+8gb of space, you can actually make your own ’season of movies’ if you want to!

For them GPS fan like you and me, the S60 Nokia N96 also has a built in GPS navigation system (wouldn’t you guess??)! It also includes the usual standard stereo FM Radio, 3.5 millimeter headphones, Hi Speed USB 2.0 or Type Micro USB version B connectivity, TV OUT for both PAL and NTSC broadcasting, WLAN - IEEE 802.11 g/b with UPnP support and Enhanced Data Rate or EDP Bluetooth!

In conclusion, for 550 Euros the Nokia N96 is an ok deal but if you already own the Nokia N95 8gb smartphone, you will know that waiting a while before you decide to buy it is a good idea cause just like the N95 it might show signs of bugs and problems at the beginning mainly because of its brand “new enhanced data chipset and hardware” (we all know how that works!). Plus, I am sure that after the initial release of the scheduled Q3 2008, Nokia will absolutely announce a firmware update within one month or so and the price will fall as well !! But if you are Nokiaholic like I am and you have the money and know the ways of “manipulating the firmware at will” then don’t wait you, just get it!
Though Nokia itself haven’t actually announced anything officially about the exact date of its arrival in most of the markets but it is expected that the Nokia Aeon might just be released later this year. They are simply slick, intelligent and much more efficient in terms of OS speed and features than any other Nokia phone in the market. S60 UI with the slickness of the Apple Iphone. This is sure to be a hit among consumers. I know I am waiting for this piece of gem to hit the market, but what about you? Like it or hate it?
Watch the video to learn the possibilities that this technology opens up for the Nokia devices. This is yet to be released but are planned to be put in the upcoming phones of the early next year or maybe even later this year. I know I am looking forward to it more than anything. Simplicity, expandability and user enjoyment are the three most basic concept behind this technology and its development. An experience like no other. Enjoy!
A few days back I got myself exposed to the future of Nokia devices. What I am talking about was actually launched alongside The Museum of Modern Art “Design and The Elastic Mind” exhibition, the Morph concept device is a bridge between highly advanced technologies and their potential benefits to each one of us. It truly is the “way of the future”.

What it offers is truly breathtaking cause if that’s what is about to hit us in the near future then we will be one of the luckiest generation of “techwhiz” alive. As published by Nokia, the newly developing Morph Concept offers opportunities for insane growth in the mobile phones sector while specially in terms of features that can be offered.

To name a few among the likely possibilities:

The devices will be composed of flexible, stretchable, transparent and remarkably strong materials which will blend seamlessly with the way we live. (…Imagine the oppurtunies? Maybe the color of the phone will change along with the time of the day or night, maybe the phone itself will bend around with your wrist like a nifty new watch while you are driving, maybe my themes will change with them one day hey! Imagine a QWERTY keyboard on the smallest of the Nokia device and imagine high end Touch UI keypads which only comes out when you want it to come out.)

All devices will be more self cleaning, self preserving, (I personally think that it will be self sustainable, maybe it will detect itself that it is inside your pocket and will automatically active “scratch proof” mode since nanostructured surfaces like “Nanoflowers” naturally repel water, dirt, and even your own fingerprints automatically.)

The whole electronic circuits inside the phone itself will be entirely transparent, thus making the phone even more dynamic in terms of futuristic designs.

The batteries will become much more smaller with solar energy being the vital source of our so called “talk time”. Or maybe batteries will serve as a backup to the “Nanograss” (a technology of nano structures that harvest solar power independently) covered, solar energy powered, Nokia phones, thus out running the currently used traditional Lithium Ion batteries completely, who knows!

There might be built in environment sensors that will come with the phone, thus aesthetics of nanotechnology will be used to its fullest. Imagine this, you are holding the “Morph-ed Nokia” in front of the pizza you are about to eat and it tells you immediately if that is good for your health or should you rather eat a veggie pizza that day (I hate veggie pizza!).

And if those are not enough for you to be in total awe, it is being foreseen that after the implementation of the Nokia Morph concept, the cost of the phone itself will come down significantly while offering dynamic space for further 3rd party application and feature development. The actual size of the Nokia will get much smaller, keeping the navigation simple and subtle while focusing on the external interactions we do through our cell phones which will only leap forward endlessly, seamlessly.

Take a look at the video that was showcased by Nokia, it will certainly give you a good glimse of things about to come in our way, Nokia… Truly connecting people!! Cheers!
