Resco Photo Viewer | S60 Smart Phones

One of the worst thing of both S60 and S40 smartphones is the fact that when you enter its default gallery menu it takes a hell lot of time to load. Resco Photo Viewer solves that and does so much more. One might say that Resco photo viewer is a symbian based application which is the the merge between Microsoft Powerpoint with Adobe Photoshop for handhelds and pda devices. With Resco photo viewer version 4.5 you can open almost any type or format of images which can thrown at your smartphone.

Whether you use a mobile phone like Nokia N95 or Nokia 76, everyone is always keen to know how the camera performs, how much detailed mega pixels it supports and so on. As for example, the Nokia N95 NAM can take pictures up to a whopping 5 mega pixels and when you take a picture through it the image size becomes way too much to browse, open or manage from your cell phones. Resco photo viewer, well more of a editor or manager one might say, runs on a powerful symbian software engine. This makes this one of a kind application the most fastest browser for any smartphones in the market. Browsing through gigabytes of images and showing it to your friends becomes so much fun!

You can manage and edit slideshows straight from the phone! Beside the slides, you can additionally crop, copy, zoom, color and resize an image with two clicks. The MMS feature of any network carrier like AT&T or Orange Mobile UK supports a max size of 100 KB of file size to be sent, thus making the normal pictures taken from a smartphone quite impossible to send on the go. If you take a good picture and have Resco Viewer installed then you can actually send the picture as a MMS by pressing one single key, the image you want send will shrink just under 100KB and all you have to do is specify the number you wish to send the image to. Of course the infrared and bluetooth option is there as well.

With Resco you can edit the slide templates, how they will appear and even the transitions of the slides. You can export the slide directly to a computer and give a presentation from your Nokia S60 smartphone without any hassle. It also supports animations or .gif extensions and it doesn’t freeze in between changing of animated images like the default Nokia image gallery sometimes do when the file size becomes too large for it to handle. If you use a mobile fax application then you can send, view, edit and receive fax images straight from your cell phone. It also have an auto-fix feature built in which fixes images like magic! Even if you take a memory card of your Sony digicam and insert it into the Nokia memory slot then this cool little application can even view or edit those without any difficulty at all.

Without any doubt and with all these options I am sure you will want to replace your default viewer with this and will also want images to open straight through this application and not the default image viewer of Nokia right? Resco does this too! You can choose and make it the default image viewing application for your Nokia so that when you open an image through an application like the S60 File Explorer, Resco viewer will open up and not the default viewer which will instantly freeze your screen for five minutes!

This mobile software is compatible with Nokia S60 phones, both N-Series and E-Series! Meaning, all Nokia 3rd edition devices like Nokia N81, N82, N91, Nokia E50, N71, N80, E51, E60, E61, E61i, E62, E65, E70, E90, Nokia 3250, 5500 Sport, N73, N75, N76, N77, N78, 5700 Xpress Music, 6110 Navigator, N92, N93, N93i, N95, N96, 6120 classic, 6121, 6210 Navigator, 6220, 6290 are supported. This application is also network independent and will work in both GSM and CDMA post and prepaid operators like AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Telstra, Digi, Djuice, Orange Mobile Uk, Vodafone, Hutch, Cingular etc.

I did notice that slow loading time and eventual freezing when loading up the pictures with Nokia’s default gallery viewer. This is an excellent alternative. I love how it looks similar to the default viewer from Sony Ericsson P800 (which was my older phone) and seems easeir to handle. Thanks!

It’s more of the fact that, even if you do sort out your pictures in your phones hierachy, Nokia Gallery has to treat all your folders like one big image folder. Not gotten round to using this software, but I hope it helps loads.

I guess this is the proper solution to nokia gallery loading all image files….dispite! the fact that the user will organise their images in their own appropriate hierarchy.
