Greetings everyone! I brought you today one of the finest anti virus – anti theft engine for your smartphones. Yes, as the title suggest, I am precisely talking about Kaspersky Mobile Security 2008 for handhelds and mobile phones of the 3rd Edition. Even any PDA running on the windows mobile 5 and 6 are supported but I am not going to elaborate on that one. Why is it so that the buzz of mobile anti virus applications have been rising? Lately, most 3rd Edition symbian phones of Nokia, SonyEricsson, Motorola and LG have been hit by a wave of weird virus attack.

What the anti-theft feature does is pretty exciting to say the very least. Imagine this scenario, your phone is stolen, hijacked or lost and you have no clue as to where it is and who is using it and with which number. What Anti-Theft can do is that it can securely and remotely delete all your personal info, sms, files etc from the device so that no one of your friends, family or colleagues gets harassed by this perpetrator!

Additionally it also sends a sms whenever your SIM card is changed and a new SIM card is inserted, what it includes in that SMS is the new number of that SIM card. All these happens from the background of the phone and the thief will have no idea that he is being played in his own game. To add to security, you can even send a command to the stolen or lost phone, your phone, that not to make the phone function unless the user enters a password set by you remotely, thus preventing it from being used completely by anyone unauthorized to do so.

With the anti-malware function that it also includes, the symbian mobile application also blocks all kinds of incoming adware, infected sms, and all other malicious files from being transferred over to your phone. When syncing your mobile phone with your desktop or laptop, it also ensures that even if your phone is pre-infected, your desktop or PC remains safe by not transferring the defected files. It also prevents viruses from dialing any numbers, which it might have done otherwise.

The anti virus and anti malware database can be updated accordingly to suit your needs, you can set it to automatically update everyday, every week or at your predefined days of the week or month. This will ensure that you remain safe from the latest worms and viruses throughout the years.

I have updated the post with the latest version of the Kaspersky Mobile Security 8.051 in both the posts I made about Kaspersky Mobile. This version will work on Nokia OS 9.4 and 9.5 devices beside the regular Symbian OS 9.1, 9.2 and 9.3 based S60 smartphones.

Please read the attached ‘Read Me’ file that I have included in the new version of the download below as it contains the detailed instructions of how to install the unsigned installer successfully in case you are not a pro.

This super cool application is free to download, but all I ask of you is to subscribe to my RSS feed for free before downloading. The application is compatible with the latest NSeries, ESeries S60 mobile phones and smartphones of Nokia including, Nokia E51, E50, N73, N78, N96, N95, N91, 3250, N92, N93, N76, N71, N77, 6110, 6120, 5700, 5710, 5310, 5300, N80, E60, E61, N81, N82, E62, E65, E70 and E90 and probably more. It will also work with the newer versions of Nokia devices like the N97 and 5800 XpressMusic phones.

With an unlocked version of any of those phones and with a carrier of AT&T, Tmobile, Verizon Wireless or Sprint, you will be able to use it for sure. I have also included the updated database and the database files should go to your private folder named 200112C4, which you can easily find with your favorite file explorer.
